ABOUT THIS WATCH

The Traverse is built around a clear purpose: a watch with genuine diver proportions, mechanical movement, and the kind of visual presence that reads equally well on the water and off it. The two-tone ceramic bezel and bold arabic numerals at 12, 3, and 9 o'clock give it a distinct identity within the collection, setting it apart from more understated dress-oriented models.

Inside the stainless steel case, a Japan Seiko NH35 automatic movement powers the watch through the natural motion of the wrist, with no battery required. The exhibition caseback keeps the movement visible, allowing the mechanics to remain part of the ownership experience. Sapphire crystal sits over the dial, engineered for greater scratch resistance in everyday wear.

The Traverse wears well across contexts: the nylon and rubber composite strap is comfortable enough for extended daily wear, the screw crown supports the 100M water resistance rating, and the folding clasp with security mechanism keeps the watch securely on the wrist during active use. This is a watch designed to be worn consistently, not reserved for occasions.

Contrasting Ceramic Insert

The bezel pairs a black ceramic insert with an orange ceramic accent segment occupying approximately the first quarter of the bezel ring. The contrast between the two tones creates a visual tension that gives the Traverse its most recognizable feature, readable from a distance and immediately distinctive on the wrist.

Bezel Scale & Knurled Edge

The outer bezel ring carries a graduated minute scale with numerals at 20, 30, 40, and 50, and a triangular pip marker at 12 o'clock. The knurled steel edge surrounding the ceramic insert provides a tactile grip surface and a structural frame that reinforces the diver proportions of the case.

Arabic Numeral Architecture

The dial positions arabic numerals at 12, 9, and 3 o'clock in a color that matches the bezel accent, while the remaining hour positions carry rectangular bar indices. The contrast between the numeral scale and the dial surface establishes clear visual hierarchy and immediate time readability across distances.

Luminous Hands & Indices

The arrow-tipped hour and minute hands carry luminous material, as do the bar indices around the dial. The seconds hand matches the bezel accent color, adding a dynamic accent that reinforces the two-tone visual language of the watch across the full face.

Japan Seiko NH35 Movement

The caseback features a transparent crystal window that keeps the Japan Seiko NH35 automatic movement visible from the outside. Powered entirely by the natural motion of the wrist, the movement requires no battery, and its mechanical components remain part of the watch's daily presence rather than hidden behind a solid caseback.

Nylon and Rubber Construction

The strap combines a nylon upper surface with a rubber underlayer, delivering a construction that is comfortable against the skin during extended wear while remaining resistant to moisture. The contrasting lateral border in rubber follows the same accent color as the bezel insert, maintaining the two-tone visual identity of the Traverse from the dial all the way down the strap.

Folding Clasp with Security Lock

The strap closes via a folding clasp with a security mechanism, providing a structured fit that does not rely on pin and hole adjustment at the point of closure. The steel clasp sits flush with the strap profile and delivers a finished appearance from every angle.

Screw-Down Crown

The crown threads into the case to create a sealed closure that supports the 100M water resistance rating. The crown carries a visible accent ring matching the bezel color, extending the two-tone design language to the side of the case and maintaining visual coherence across all angles.

Worn With Intention

The Traverse sits low on the wrist in the way a watch with genuine diver proportions should. The 42 MM case fills the space between the cuff and the hand without overpowering it, and the composite strap flexes naturally against the skin. It is a watch that disappears into the routine of wearing it.

The Details in Focus

At close range, the contrast between the two ceramic tones on the bezel and the bold arabic numerals on the dial define the Traverse. The sapphire crystal allows the dial surface to remain clear without visual distortion, and the luminous hands hold their position with visual clarity.

Built to Be Used

The Traverse carries well regardless of what it is paired with. The screw crown and 100M water resistance rating mean it moves between environments without requiring adjustment in behavior. The watch is at home in motion, and this is visible in the way it sits on the wrist.

Ordered the Traverse after seeing it on a forum dedicated to mechanical watches. The NH35 movement winds smoothly and the caseback gives a clear view of the rotor in motion. Solid daily wearer at this price point.

The bezel on this watch is what sold me initially, and it holds up well in person. The ceramic feels firm and the two-tone contrast is sharper than I expected from the product photos. Wearing it daily for three weeks now with no complaints.

Came well packaged and the watch itself sat securely in the box. The composite strap took a day or two to break in but now sits comfortably on the wrist. The 42 MM case wears larger than expected but not uncomfortably so.

The sapphire crystal has held up without a mark through four weeks of regular office and weekend use. Legibility is strong across different lighting conditions. The date window is clean and properly aligned.

I have been wearing this alongside a much more expensive automatic and the NH35 keeps pace well enough for daily use. The exhibition caseback is a genuine addition, not decorative. You can actually see the movement clearly.

At 16 MM thick the Traverse sits a bit proud under a shirt cuff but not in a way that bothers me. The weight is noticeable on the wrist, around 112 grams, which gives it a purposeful feel without being fatiguing. Kept time accurately since day one.

The folding clasp closes with a satisfying click and stays closed. No rattling or play in the mechanism. The nylon and rubber strap combination is more comfortable than I initially expected from photos.

Bought this as a secondary watch to rotate with a dress piece. The Traverse handles active days and casual weekends without looking out of place in either context. The ceramic bezel has not shown any wear after a month of use.

The luminous hands are visible in low light without needing prior exposure to strong light for long. Practical detail that I use more than I expected. The seconds hand tracks smoothly without visible stepping.

Wrist presence is exactly what the 42 MM dimensions suggest. The knurled edge of the bezel provides grip without being sharp against adjacent fingers. The overall finishing quality is consistent across the case, bezel and strap hardware.

The movement visible through the caseback is cleaner looking than I anticipated. The rotor swings freely with wrist motion and winds the watch reliably through a normal active day. No need to hand wind unless it sits unworn for several days.

Three months of daily wear and the strap still looks and feels the same as when it arrived. The nylon surface has not frayed at the edges. The rubber underlayer keeps the strap from sliding on the wrist during physical activity.

The arabic numerals at three key positions on the dial add to readability at a glance. The bar indices at the remaining positions are proportioned well and do not clutter the dial. Clean layout overall.

Received as a gift and was impressed by the presentation. The watch box is sturdy and the watch arrives protected and well positioned inside. The Traverse itself lives up to what the packaging suggests.

This is my first automatic watch and the NH35 has been easy to live with. Setting the time and date is straightforward via the crown. The screw-down action on the crown is smooth and reassuring.

The dial text is small but legible. Water resistance, movement origin and the automatic designation are all printed clearly without crowding the lower half of the dial. Nothing feels rushed or poorly placed.

Wore the Traverse on a sailing weekend and it came through without any water ingress. The screw crown held up to repeated exposure and the strap dried quickly. Functional watch that does what it claims.

The two-tone bezel detail carries through to the crown accent on the side of the case. It is a small detail but it shows considered design across the watch rather than a bezel that exists independently of the rest. Noticed it only after a few days of wearing.

Timekeeping has been consistent over six weeks without adjustment. The NH35 is a known quantity and the Traverse delivers what the movement is capable of. Reliable, well-finished, and comfortable for all-day wear.
