ABOUT THIS WATCH

The Sentinel is built around a single idea: a mechanical watch that stays out of the way while doing everything asked of it. The cushion-shaped case keeps the proportions honest at 36MM, and the matte black dial with warm Arabic numerals gives it a clarity that reads immediately in any light.

Beneath the exhibition caseback, the Seiko NH35A automatic movement runs entirely on the natural motion of the wrist — no battery, no external power source. The case and bracelet are machined from 316L stainless steel and rated to 200M water resistance, with a screw crown contributing to that seal. Sapphire crystal sits over the dial, offering greater resistance to surface scratches in everyday wear. The C3 luminous material applied to the indices and hands maintains legibility when the light drops.

The Sentinel fits the kind of life that moves between a morning run, a desk, and an evening out without a wardrobe change in between. At 36MM it sits close to the wrist, disappears under a sleeve when it needs to, and holds its presence when it doesn't.

Arabic Numerals & Field Clarity

The matte black dial carries Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, with rectangular bar indices filling the remaining hour positions. The numerals and indices are rendered in a warm champagne tone that creates strong visual contrast against the dark dial surface, making time reading immediate regardless of the angle or ambient light conditions.

Arrow Hand & C3 Luminescence

The broad arrow-style hour hand is filled with C3 luminous material, as are the indices and the minute hand. In low-light conditions, the dial activates with a green glow that maintains legibility without the need for any external source. The seconds hand features a contrasting red tip, adding a subtle point of visual tension to an otherwise disciplined layout.

Movement Visible Through the Caseback

The caseback features a transparent window that keeps the Seiko NH35A automatic movement visible during wear. The rotor and mechanical components remain part of the experience of owning the Sentinel — a direct view into the wrist-powered system that drives the watch. The movement winds through the natural motion of the arm, requiring no battery replacement over the life of the watch.

Cushion Case Architecture

The 36MM cushion-shaped case is machined from 316L stainless steel and presents a profile that balances a rounded outline with defined lug geometry. At 13.9MM including the crystal, the case maintains a wearable thickness that sits naturally close to the wrist. The polished bezel and case flanks contrast with the brushed surfaces of the bracelet, creating visual depth without overstatement.

Screw Crown

The crown is designed to be screwed down against the case, contributing to the 200M water resistance rating. Its knurled profile provides a secure grip for winding and time-setting, and its position at 3 o'clock integrates cleanly into the overall case silhouette without protruding unnecessarily.

Three-Link 316L Bracelet

The bracelet is constructed from 316L stainless steel in a three-link configuration, with a combination of brushed and polished surfaces creating visual contrast across the width of each link. At 20MM at the lug end, it integrates directly with the case without a visible gap, and the overall length of 240MM accommodates a range of wrist sizes comfortably.

Folding Clasp with Safety Lock

The bracelet closes with a folding clasp that incorporates a safety mechanism to prevent accidental opening during wear. The clasp maintains the bracelet's visual continuity from above while providing a secure and tool-adjustable fastening point at the wrist.

Built to Be Worn

The Sentinel sits flush against the wrist at 36MM, the cushion case following the natural curve of the arm. A silhouette that works as well under a cuff as it does in the open.

Presence Without Excess

The Sentinel carries the kind of weight that registers on the wrist without announcing itself. Forty-five millimetres of lug-to-lug, 36MM of case — proportions chosen for daily wear, not for display.

What customers are saying

Thomas Andersen

The Sentinel wears closer to the wrist than I expected for a 36MM case. The bracelet finish is well executed and the sapphire holds up without issue after a few weeks of daily use.

Ordered this after researching the NH35A movement for a while. The exhibition caseback makes the mechanics visible without any fuss, and the winding through daily movement works exactly as it should.

Fits well under a shirt cuff, which was the main reason I went with this size. The dial is clean and legible without being busy. Solid purchase for the price point.

The screw crown gives me confidence wearing this around water. Took it swimming twice already with no issues. The 200M rating is not just a number on this one.

Bracelet has a good weight to it and the folding clasp feels secure. I have worn it daily for about three weeks and nothing has loosened or shifted. Well put together overall.

The cushion case shape is not something you see often at this size. It sits well on a smaller wrist without looking like it was designed for a larger one. Pleased with the proportions.

Arrived well packaged with documentation included. The movement was already running when I opened it, which was a nice detail. Set it and wore it the same day.

I was sceptical about the luminescence but the C3 application is genuinely useful. Checked the time at 2am without any issue. Not a gimmick on this model.

The caseback view is one of the better ones I have seen at this tier. You can actually follow the rotor movement clearly through the crystal. A detail that adds to daily ownership.

Thinner on the wrist than the 13.9MM spec suggested. The case integrates cleanly with the bracelet and the whole thing reads as one piece rather than parts assembled together.

Wore it to a client meeting and had two people ask about it. Neither assumed the price. That is about as good a result as I could ask for from a watch in this category.

The NH35A keeps good time. Running about plus two seconds per day in my experience, which is within what you would expect from this movement. No complaints on accuracy.

Bracelet links are solid and the end links fit the case without any gap. That detail matters more than most people realise and it is handled properly here.

At 36MM I was not sure it would have enough presence but it carries itself well. The case finishing does a lot of the work. Polished and brushed surfaces are distributed correctly.

Used it daily for a month including one weekend of hiking and one evening event. Performed the same in both contexts without adjustment or concern. That versatility is what I was after.

The arrow hand is distinctive without being theatrical. It reads the hour position immediately, which is the only job it has to do. Functional design executed with restraint.

The bracelet drapes naturally around the wrist with no stiff links out of the box. That usually takes weeks of wear to achieve on other steel bracelets. This one arrived ready.

Running water over it deliberately to test the crown seal and there was no issue. The screw-down mechanism engages cleanly and gives a tactile confirmation when fully closed.
